Please note- Native title restrictions now apply over the entire Kalkadoon Tribal lands that cover this region and Fossicking is now restricted entirely to mining tenure and not on other land without a land agreement.
Whether you are interested in the History of a site, or area, or for Fossicking for Rocks or Minerals, we cover areas throughout the Mount Isa and Cloncurry Districts of Queensland for day trips or part day trips.
With seventeen years of experience in the area Ken can show you a wonderful day of adventure and collecting of Mineral or Rock samples from many locations.
We also cater for Study, Educational groups and explain Geological conditions that caused the features or an Orebody that may be of interest.
Generally a high clearance or 4WD vehicle is required but some sites can be visited with a regular sedan.
Most of the terrain here is undulating with occassional ranges of rough rocky terrain and travelled slowly, it poses very few problems.
We rarely encounter boggy, muddy conditions.
Prior to arriving all clients should obtain a Queensland Fossicking Permit if intending to fossick.
Most of our clients select the site they wish to visit prior to making arrangements with us but we are more than happy to make suggestions depending upon your interests.

Please be aware that even in the Winter months it can get very warm in this area and salt loss is very high, so a hat and sunscreen are recommended on any given day.
It is also highly recommended to carry far more water than you anticipate using.
We practice and encourage environmental behavior such as removal of all rubbish taken into the bush by us and reducing erosion, spills, and vegetative damage where possible.
We also discourage interfering with any other Flora or Fauna unless through the eyes of yourself, your camera or any other acceptable means.
Payment methods
Overseas customers - can only
use Paypal, where you can safely use your credit or debit
card, even if you do not have a Paypal account. The invoice simply
arrives to your email adress.
Travellers Cheques are accepted from overseas visitors on the day. Simply provide your passport for viewing so we can record the passport number on the back of the Travellers Cheque.
Australian buyers - can
pay by any of these methods. Direct deposit (preferred method), Postal order, Cheque, COD, or Paypal.
We do accept cash payments on the day and provide a receipt accordingly.
